Heart biscuits

Last night I went out and came back very late.

This morning, after LD#2′s riding lesson, I went back to bed and slept until 4pm.

Got up feeling guilty so I made some biscuits based on this recipe. I say “based on”, because the pastry crumbled when I tried to roll it, so I added some water (30ml, to twice the ingredients listed) and everything was fine.

Everything is always fine when there are biscuits involved.

Thank you for sharing post, And …..all so beautiful. Thank you for sharing. Wishing you a beautiful weekend. Much love. :)

    • They reminded me of jam tarts as I was making them and that took me back to my childhood – the excitement of three different coloured cakes to choose from!

    • Using the cookie cutters my LD#2 with such good taste persuaded me to buy. Can’t go wrong with a heart either.

  2. 4pm?!! You wicked woman!
Hope you’ve recovered now. The biscuits look good. Certainly good enough to absolve any guilt. :)

    • It was bliss! I plan on badminton with the girls tomorrow so definitely will be making up for things, however this will mean strictly no lie in.

  3. A nap and cherry, white chocolate linzer-style biscuits? That sounds wonderful, Denise. Your reward for all of your hard work! :-) I pinned your recipe so that I can try these soon. My daughter will love them.

    • My daughter said she preferred Jammy Dodgers out of a packet!  Having said that, I don’t yet have the knack of taking the biscuits out while they are still soft, as I don’t have the confidence that they will firm up.  It just takes experience, I guess.

      • LD#2 chooses Oreos in the supermarket.  I didn’t even know what they were growing up – I would read about them in my beloved Judy Blume books.

  4. Biccies look awesome! I managed to have a nap this afternoon but mine was down to having knocked myself out with Night Nurse last night (that stuff is mega powerful!!) and then dragged my sorry self into work for four hours overtime at 7am this morning!

    • Once in the chemist (what was I thinking??) I mentioned that I wanted the Night and not the Day version of a cold medicine for my daughter to help her sleep and got immediate suspicious lecture from the woman behind the counter.

7am is rough! You deserve a nap.

  5. Glad you caught up on your sleep!! You are one busy lady these days and Iove your biscuits/jam tarts :-)

  6. I love the circles for the gravatars. Very nice. Yes, you and I suffer from the same trait, for lack of a better word. I love to be doing something all the time. I really love it. There isn’t enough time in my life to do all the things I love. So I “get” your astonishment about sleeping til 4PM! Those biscuits. So beautiful.

    • Nice to hear from you – what are you up to in the art world? I wonder sometimes! Hope you are well.

      • I am thank you. But waiting til May to do work for solo show. Blog will be linked.

Gearing up for it though and entering some group shows doing a few small pieces here and there. But there is that pillow of grief around me, as you talked about. And I am not myself yet.

  7. Love to see you are living and treat us all for biscuits with jam in heart shape.. it looks great those 4 O’clock biscuits.. I must rush to put the kettle on..

  8. I’m always amazed when anyone prefers store-bought cookies to homemade. I can’t bring myself to eat the packaged stuff, but give me anything with REAL BUTTER, and I bliss out.

I love the new look and organization of your blog. I suppose it’s not so terribly new; I always suffer from delayed recognition. A friend can get a radical haircut or color change, and I won’t notice until I’ve seen her 3 or four times in the new look.

  9. They look so cute and delicious! I love jam biscuits–it’s usually dangerous to have a full plate of them in front of me!
Btw, I like the new look of your blog! :D
